Post-Production Update, Post-Conference, Post-Book Signing

Here’s the screenwriting panel!

Hi. There we go. There's my voice. Yeah, I was going to write out this nice little speech or something, but I just couldn't do it. I don't know why. It's my journal entry for today. I started off knowing I was going to tell you this, so it's not like an unplanned thing. Most of my journal entries are, most of them are just straight off the cuff, unfiltered. This is somewhat filtered.

Okay. 9-22-25. (Or 22-9-25, if you wish) Monday. “I just realized it's the first day of Autumn. [The Autumnal Equinox!] Along with wrapping production on my first short film. I just attended the C3 conference. It was awesome.” It was. The C3 conference is really awesome. Creatures, Crimes and Creativity.

John Gilstrap, NY Times bestselling author, and Stacy Woodson, a Second Rounder at Austin Film Festival!

“I was on a panel about screenwriting, which was such an honor.” And I just didn't want to write anymore for some reason. It's like, I just wanted to tell you, it was a wonderful experience going to the conference. It was wonderful to see people who I've talked to on the Crime Cafe, to be with them. It was wonderful to be on this panel about screenwriting with people like John Gilstrap and Tom Straw has had this remarkable history in the field of entertainment. Not to mention Stacy Woodson and Reed Farrel Coleman.

I was just blown away by people that are doing remarkable things, who I got to meet there and it really is inspiring to go to these things, if you want to be a writer. Go to these writers conferences. The people there, authors are a welcoming bunch and I found that to be true of screenwriters as well. Screenwriters are a very welcoming bunch. No snobbery about them, nothing like that. It's just you always have a few people who are bad apples. You do your best to ignore them. That's my advice.

Anyway, it was quite a weekend and it's been quite a time and I'm getting to work on the bulk of what I'm going to be doing. I can see is going to be editing for a while on this film, so I'm just hoping that I'll be able to keep up with whatever else it is I want to do in this time that I have.

Alright, so I will try to do as many book reviews as I can, assuming I find the time to read. Yeah, I will, always I find the time to read, even if it's slowly. Alright, take care and be seeing you.

Keith Strunk of River Union Stage documented the proceedings. 🙂
Be seeing you! 🙂
