Hi, today I'm reviewing Slow Horses by Mick Herron. Yeah, I really enjoyed this book a lot. I like spy novels and, like any spy novel, this one is full of twists and turns. It moves at a good pace. It has lots and lots of interesting, fancy words in it, which I enjoyed. I have to say, he has a very enjoyable writing style. There's a delightful amount of humor in it, but I can certainly see how it was easily adaptable into a streaming show on Apple, I believe, and I wish I had a subscription to Apple at this point because I would really love to see Gary Oldman playing Jackson Lamb. Let me tell you, he is a character, and so are all the people in this book.
It's about … "slow horses" refers to a group of spies, I guess for MI5 or MI6, or was it MI5? I don't know, it's an MI-Something. Anyway, duh. So in any case, they fucked up somehow and they've ended up being relegated to this place called Slough House. And so they're the slow horses of Slough House and there is trickery afoot here. That's all I'll say. Period. Done. Okay. Loved it. And I wish I could see Gary Oldman in this because I bet he just rocks that part. Alrighty, take care and talk to you later.
You can buy the ebook from any of these retailers.
You can also buy it in print from my online bookstore and support indie bookstores.
