CHAPTER ELEVEN
Nick and I ended our call on that somewhat less than satisfying note. Not that I imagined for even one second that he’d committed some horrendous crime, but why were the police questioning me about Nick? And what was that crack from Sully concerning my previous “brushes with the law” all about?
I tried to push these thoughts into the back of my mind, but I knew I couldn’t rest easy until Nick and I were eliminated from the pool of suspects. In my case, that should be easy. Apart from our first meeting, my only contacts with the Harcourts had been by phone or email. And what possible motive could I have?
